HOW IS COMMUNITY HOME MEDICAL RESPONDING TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The health and safety of our employees and patient’s is our top priority at Community Home Medical. Therefore, during this outbreak we want to assure you that we take this very seriously and want to inform you of what precautions Community Home Medical has put into place during the everchanging situation of Coronaviris (Covid-19). We are closely monitoring these changes and taking the necessary precautions available to avoid spreading the virus or any contamination.

Community Home Medical employees who are able to do their jobs remotely have been transitioned to work from home.

All employees working on-site must follow the following guidelines:

Taking temperature twice a day, practice social distancing between fellow employees, follow strict hygiene rules (frequent washing of hands 20 seconds), use hand sanitizer with alcohol base, not sharing any objects i.e. pens, towels, utensils, clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces (doors, phones, keyboards, light switches). The warehouse is restricted to authorized personnel only.

In an effort to limit the number of visitors in our stores, CHM is requiring that only pre-scheduled appointments from those who are asymptomatic and are wearing a mask enter. This precaution is in place until further notice.

When a Community Home Medical delivery technician is dispatched to a patient’s home, we are following the “minimal patient interaction protocol” which consists of the following:

  • Leaving item at the door, when feasible.
  • Providing a telephone number to be instructed or for assistance if needed

Community Home Medical clinicians are currently using telehealth options for instructing patients on machine usage to avoid putting patients with possible compromised health conditions at risk for contracting the virus.

CPAP machines are being mailed UPS with next day arrival to patients’ homes. Our patients are asked to call when they receive their machine to be instructed by a Community Home Medical clinician (Respiratory Therapist or Licensed Practical Nurse) via telephone.

COMMUNITY HOME MEDICAL HAS BEEN COMMITTED TO YOU FOR 20+ YEARS AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO THROUGH THESE DIFFICULT TIMES. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER…RELY ON US.
